This a fully loaded 2003 Ford E-150 Chateau Handicap Wheelchair Van that has been specially equipted with Special Steering and Braking Controls for a Driver who requires a Wheelchair or Powerchair for mobility. It was converted by Driving Systems Inc. of Van Nuys California when new in 2003 and was purchased at a cost of nearly 100,000.xx dolllars. It has been driven 126800 miles by one owner who had used a powerchair for mobility. It was designed using special state of the art hand controls, allowing it to be operated by a person in a powerchair or wheelchair with very limited hand and arm motion. It has a complete push button control panel mounted on the left door that controls all functions of the Van including power opening and shutting of the side doors and the raising and lowering of the wheelchair lift. It also has an auxillary control panel mounted on the steering wheel. This Van can also be driven by a person who is not in a wheelchair by installing the included easy lock drivers seat that is on wheels and easily installed using the same ez lock system that would also secure the wheelchair or powerchair in the drivers area. The throttle and brake controls are then locked using an included locking bar so that the floor pedals can be used. When using the Hand controls, by pulling the steering wheel back toward the driver the brakes are applied and by pushing the wheel foward the throttle is increased, and as I mentioned before this Van was designed to be driven by hand control only using limited hand and arm motion so the steering system is very sensitive and the steering wheel on has a range of only 90 degrees in each direction and is also power assisted. All aspects of the Van, Power windows, Radio,Turn Signals, Climate Controls, starting of the Engine, Shifting of the Transmission from Park, Reverse and Drive are power assisted and controlled by the left side panel. The Van floor has been lowered approx 4 Inches to increase headroom. This Van does have some scratches and some dents from parking lots and the door panel has been removed from one of the side doors so that the opening mechanism can work properly. Please check out the pictures and call or e-mail with any questions. It has had only one owner driver and I was told it has been dealer serviced since new. This Van runs very well and is clean and dry underneath and all onboard systems are functioning properly. It has a remoted entry system that is activated by using a special magnetic wand that is touched to the passenger side tail light lense to automatically open the doors and lower the Wheelchair Lift.
